Collective Arts Brewing is possibly the most excellent brew crew in the game; hailing out of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; they’re compounding the art of brewing; with exceptional visual works created by artists from around the world. They collaborate with various galleries, breweries, and curate exhibitions; showcasing visual art, music, and ….uh.. beer.
Their latest collab/s is one for the books; six different breweries, from Sweden, to Iceland, and the U.K; cooking up some serious juice– clocking in at about 11.5% abv. each.
We tried a 5/6, and can safely say they were all masterfully executed– the two standouts, for us, are the, Wild collab w/ Wild Beer Co. out of Somerset U.K, for it’s utter uniqueness, and complex savory flavor profile. Steeped in umami goodness, this bottle barrel-aged god-sent is unlike anything we’ve ever had before, and highly recommend it to beer enthusiasts, and anyone looking to drink outside of the box.

The Forbidden Root collab w/ Moon Dog Brewing from Melbourne, Australia, packs a pungent punch. As soon as you crack this one open you get a hefty note of Black Truffle, mid-notes of Chocolate, and base of Vanilla. It’s a perfectly rounded blend of earthy flavors, with a lingering, velvety texture. If you’re able to get your hands on this one; get it.

The other releases in this series lean closer to more traditional Barrel-Aged stouts, but are all equally good. We’ll be keeping an eye out for future collars, but in the meantime; keep it locked, as we’ll be tasting and reviewing a few more of their creations in the coming weeks
